Crispy Cauliflower Snacks
Ingredients:
- 1 medium cauliflower,
- cut into bite-sized florets
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best for extra crunch)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 1/2 cup milk (or plant-based milk for a vegan option)
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 tbsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. olive oil (optional, for extra crispiness)
For a Dipping Sauce:
- 1/2 cup yogurt or mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp. hot sauce or ketchup
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat Oven or Air Fryer: Oven:
Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
Air fryer: Set to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Batter:
1. In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
2. Add milk and whisk until you have a smooth, slightly thick batter.
Bread the Cauliflower:
1. Place breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
2.Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, shake off excess, and then coat in breadcrumbs.
Arrange and Cook:
For Oven:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Spread the florets evenly and drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
For Air Fryer:
- Place florets in the basket without overcrowding.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking halfway, until crispy.
Make the Dipping Sauce:
Mix yogurt or mayo with hot sauce, lemon juice, and season to taste.
Serve: Serve the crispy cauliflower bites hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
